THE FREEDOM OF THE LINE

This body of work marks the radical transfer of drawing experience onto the large format of the canvas. Freed from decorative accessories, the vast, monochrome space belongs entirely to the clarity of the uncompromising stroke. Within this fluid network, Fritz Kreis explores a visual "aspectology": the phenomenon that our psyche consists of many interacting facets that merge into an autonomous whole. Facial and body fragments become deliberately ambiguous through the overlapping of lines – an art that cultivates inner freedom through lived authenticity.
